The Houston Rockets will look to rebound from a disappointing Monday loss while the Portland Trail Blazers will try to score their third-straight win when the two teams collide on Tuesday night at the Rose Garden in Portland.

Houston Rockets (3-1)

The new-look Rockets absorbed their first defeat of the season as they failed to contain Chris Paul and company, allowing the Los Angeles Clippers to run away with a 137-118 win on Monday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

After limiting their opponents to 93.7 points in their first three games of the season, the Rockets struggled to find their defensive rhythm all-game long, allowing the Clippers to shoot 52.1 percent from the field, including an impressive 15 conversions from the three-point region.

The Rockets' defensive struggles could be attributed to the quiet night from the superstar center and main defensive anchor Dwight Howard, who was hounded by foul trouble. Howard, who finished with 13 points and nine rebounds, committed his third foul late in the first period.

Jeremy Lin also failed to slow down Paul, who toyed with the Rockets' defense, finishing with 23 points and 17 huge assists.

Portland Trail Blazers (2-1)

Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers will look to prove that they should be included in this year's playoff talks with another win against a powerhouse squad.

Portland is coming off a stunning 115-105 win over the reigning Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs on Saturday in Oregon.

Sophomore point guard Damian Lillard led the Trail Blazers with 25 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists, while LaMarcus Aldridge, the team's leading scorer with 25.7 points per game, added 24 points on 11-for-17 shooting.

The Trail Blazers shot the lights out on Saturday night, shooting 55.6 percent from the field, while also tallying 29 assists. The Blazers averaged 24.3 assists as a team in their first three games -- the fifth-best in the NBA.

Head-to-Head Matchup

The Rockets have won in six of their last eight meetings with the Trail Blazers since March 2, 2011. They split their four-game series last season with the Rockets, winning in their final two games by an average margin of 16.5 points per game.
