The Toronto Raptors might need time to evaluate every player on their roster, but a source close to the situation indicated that Rudy Gay will be most likely traded if given an enticing offer.

Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri confirmed that he is currently in 'wait and see' mode before making any player movement during the season.

"For me to come out and say this is how I want to do this, no, I have to evaluate what we have here first ... I think it gives everyone a fair shot, which is what everyone deserves," Ujiri told Bruce Arthur of the National Post this week.

"It's our first time all together," said Ujiri. "It's an evaluation time for us. "We are still evaluating. I don't know (about the team). I can't tell you yet. Maybe after a couple of weeks, I will be able to say."

Ujiri, who was hired by the Raptors after winning the NBA Executive of the Year award in his final year with the Denver Nuggets, already made his first big move by trading Andrea Bargnani to the New York Knicks last summer.

However, there are rumors that Ujiri is not done yet as he looks to trade some major pieces of the Raptors roster, including Gay and shooting guard DeMar DeRozan.

DeRozan and Gay as Trade Bait?

A year before the highly-anticipated Andrew Wiggins draft, the Raptors found themselves in the crossroads of whether to make their push for the playoffs or tank this season in an attempt to land a better position in the upcoming draft.

ESPN basketball insider Chad Ford provided a clear perspective for the Raptors this coming season in his latest article.

"The Raptors have been trying to find new homes for both Gay and DeRozan in an attempt to move into the top five on the Tank Rank. GM Masai Ujiri knows this team's chances of making the playoffs are slim and they need to cut payroll, but the market for players like Gay and DeRozan isn't what it used to be," Ford stated.

Ujiri orchestrated the trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks in exchange for valuable pieces such as Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Timofey Mozgov and draft picks that kept the Nuggets in the playoffs despite having no legitimate star player.

With the Raptors, Ujiri has a borderline All-Star in Gay and an up-and-coming shooting guard in DeRozan, whose value could go up if he continues to evolve as a player.

But as early as now, the Raptors GM is clearly setting his sights on picking Wiggins, who is considered the most talented prep player since LeBron James.
