Chilling details have been revealed surrounding the murder-suicide of four adults and two children in a South Carolina home on Tuesday.

Authorities say Bryan Sweatt, a 27-year-old man with an extensive criminal record, killed his girlfriend, her parents and her two nephews before shooting himself.  He was locked in a custody battle with his girlfriend over their 7-month-old baby, while facing up to 25 years on a burglary charge, officials said Wednesday, according to NBC News.

Sweatt was out on bond and was supposed to appear in court on Tuesday morning, but he never showed, authorities said. They next time they heard from him was when he dialed 911 around 5:30 p.m. that day, telling the dispatcher that he was going to take his own life.

On Tuesday afternoon, authorities said Sweatt went to the home where his girlfriend's parents lived in Greenwood County and hid out for several hours, waiting with a large caliber handgun for people to come home. Between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. he executed his girlfriend Chandra Fields, 26, her parents Ronald Fields, 51, and Melissa Fields, 49; and her sister's sons, ages 11 and 9.

Police were on their way when a second 911 call came in, this time from a next-door neighbor who reported that four children walked to her house after witnessing Sweatt kill his girlfriend.

"I just got four kids at my door that says someone just killed their mama," the caller said.

The children happened to be Chandra Fields' two older daughters, Sweat's 7-month-old baby and a friend.

Coached by the dispatcher, the neighbor asked one of the children to describe what they saw.

"[Bryan] had a gun with him," a child said, going on to explain that she saw Sweatt put her mother in the back of the dining room and then heard a shot.

According to the heavy.com, Sweatt had a long history of offenses including a charge of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature in 2005.
