The actors on the hit series “The Big Bang Theory” are more talented than you may think. Clearly, they can act, but fans may not have known that Kate Micucci, who plays Raj’s love interest Lucy, also has a knack for writing songs.

Fans unknowingly caught an early glimpse of her raw talents when she wrote Howard’s heartfelt song for Bernadette. Micucci told The Hollywood Reporter that she spent about a week writing the love song alongside writing partner Riki Lindhome. The song, titled “If I didn’t Have You (Bernadette’s Song),” references Joss Whedon, “Doctor Who,” Steve Jobs, and instantly became a “Big Bang Theory” classic.

“About a month and a half ago, [showrunner] Steve Molaro called us,” Micucci said. “It seemed our music/comedic sensibility lined up with the show. Also, both Riki and I are huge fans of the show and have both been on it, so we were excited to write a song that was funny but also had a lot of heart.”

“The must have was the line, ‘And he’d probably still live with his mom.’ And for us, rhyming ‘hopes’ with ‘inseparable isotopes’ was pretty thrilling,” she said regarding the direction the show's writers provided, adding that they only changed one line for scientific accuracy.

Fans hope that there’s more where that came from and look forward to uncovering the cast’s hidden talents as the series moves forward. Check out a video of the song below.
