The truth was buried deeper on the latest episode of The CW's "Beauty and the Beast."

In "Liar, Liar," Catherine (Kristin Kreuk) gets a visit from her sister, who tells Cat about her new job, but hides the truth about their father.

Meanwhile, Vince (Jay Ryan) tells JT (Austin Basis) that he feels bad about hurting Cat. Vince then has FBI-related business to attend to, which comes to a halt because another "beast" literally rips out the FBI agent's heart.

Tess (Nina Lisandrello) then calls Cat and Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy), with news of the beast's murder scene. Vincent's alibi is that he was with JT at the time of the crime, which allows Vince to check out the crime scene. While there, he meets the beast who murdered the agent. The other beast tells Vince of a mysterious "list" that he is on.

Once he's back home, Cat breaks into Vince's boat to confront him about his violence and distrust, but spends most of the time lying herself. Thanks to a tack in Cat's shoe, Vince--who can normally sense when people are lying-- can't tell that she's not telling the truth. Cat also sets up a fake date with Vince.

It's revealed to the audience that the evil "beast" is named Sebastian, and that his father owns art galleries. The mysterious list is a kill list.

That night, Cat and Vince have their "date" night, but Vince senses that something is off. To top things off, Vince says his new powers include a photographic memory with a built-in fingerprint analysis skill, meaning he will eventually figure out that Cat broke into his computer for secret information.

Cat's sister then finally tells Cat that their father is not actually their biological father.

Tess then figures out that the FBI agent was killed because he was trailing the other beast to the art gallery.

Cat finds out that Vince is trying to get her to avoid something, which she finds out is an art auction that is in honor of the gallery owner's son, Sebastian, who was a Special Forces solider who was supposedly killed in action. She also finds out that Vince's story about his photographic memory is bogus.

Tess, Cat and Vince all head to the auction. Tess figures out that Sebastian has shown up to kill his father in public because his dad was the one who sent him into the armed forces. Cat ends up trapped in an elevator with the targeted dad, so Sebastian tries to drop her down an elevator shaft.

But Vince is there to save Cat, even if he doesn't remember her. Sebastian goes down the shaft instead as Vince grabs Cat at the last second. The act of saving her triggers Vince's memory of their past together.

On the next episode, "Hothead," Vince will face someone from his past.

The synopsis reads: "After getting stonewalled by Cat (Kristin Kreuk) in his quest to track down a suspected beast, Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) enlists Vincent's (Jay Ryan) help, but Vincent quickly takes matters into his own hands. Unfortunately, the beast has an advantage over Vincent that requires Cat's help, in addition to the help of someone else who opens up old wounds from Vincent's past."

Watch the promo for "Hothead," which airs tonight, Oct. 28 at 9/8c on The CW.
