What a roller coaster ride it’s been. After months of deliberation, wanting and yearning, the “50 Shades of Grey” producers finally landed on the perfect Christian Grey for the upcoming film. But then tragedy struck. Just when fans were warming up to Charlie Hunnam, day dreaming about his forthcoming sexcapades alongside Dakota Johnson and leaving lingerie on his doorstep, literally, he backs out. Whether his decision was based on scheduling conflicts or not, fans were faced with the hard truth: there was no longer a Christian Grey in their grasps. It was back to square one. Luckily, the “50 Shades” team responded diligently, and brought on Jamie Dornan to fill Mr. Grey’s shoes.

"Jamie has a really good reputation as someone easy to work with, easygoing and is seen as someone who will be very appreciative of this role," a source told Us Weekly. "It's his charm and personality that is winning people over."

But the rat race doesn’t end there. Christian and Anastasia may be in the books, hopefully for good this time around, but there are still plenty of characters that need to be cast, like Christian’s brother, for example.

Well the top dogs are all over it. “True Blood” actor Luke Grimes will play Elliot Grey alongside Dornan and Johnson as the first member of Christian’s tight-knit family, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He even sparks a romance with Anastasia’s best friend, a role that has yet to be cast.

Grimes plays Wes on HBO’s hit vampire drama and has appeared in “Taken 2” and “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane,” a cult horror movie that just made its way off the shelf.

The “50 Shades” casting call is a never ending drama. Although the big guns have been fired, there’s still a lot of work to do.
