It’s that time of year to buckle down with someone you love. The summer’s over. The season of unwarranted and carefree flirtation has passed. It’s time to buckle down and bundle up, and there’s no better way to do so to find a warm body to hold close. Winter is a time for everlasting love, and of course, television. Luckily, the two go hand in hand.

On the hit political drama, “Scandal,” it’s main character, Olivia Pope, knows far too well the importance of love and the follies that come with it. In last week’s episode, Olivia returns home to find released B613 captive Jake, who fans know very well as her former lover. He tells her that her face kept him alive, making it apparent that his number one priority upon returning is rekindling their flame.

Now that Olivia and Jake share the burden of being ‘owned’ by Rowan/Eli Pope, they may get back together sooner than fans thought, especially with Fitz so inaccessible.

“It’s so interesting, because we know how Huck is now, after being in the hole for so long,” Scott Foley, who who plays Jake, tells TVLine. “We saw him before that, and then he was in there for a long time — he was deprogrammed and forgot his family and all that. But Jake wasn’t in there quite as long. I’m sure it will affect him at some point, but so far not yet.”

Foley confirms that Jake’s primary goal is to pick up right where they left off. “In his eyes, repairing and restoring the relationship with Olivia is a huge priority.”

“Scandal” airs Thursday night’s on ABC.
