On a future episode of "Hawaii Five-0," Danny may get a new love interest from the Big Apple.

TVLine reports that in episode 12, the CBS drama will introduce the recurring character of Amber, a pretty New York City native who Danny (Scott Caan) meets at a gas station. By episode's end, an incident transpires, and the team must rescue her from danger.

Another woman will also be entering Danny's life, only this time, it's a woman he knows very well. Danny's mother, played by Melanie Griffith, will be introduced in the second half of the season for at least three episodes. "Danny gets a knock on the door one day and there's Melanie Griffith with a couple of bags," showrunner Peter M. Lenkov told TVLine. "She left the husband, who's acting like a 25-year-old and going through a midlife crisis. She says she just can't take it anymore, so she moves in with him and it's a little like The Odd Couple. You're going to earn a lot about Danny in those episodes."

As for the current status of the Five-0 team, they are fresh off a case of a double-murder of a wealthy couple. With the help of an eccentric conspiracy theorist, the team found that the couple's murder was connected to the famous Italian Medici rings, which were smuggled to Hawaii in the 19th century in a well-known statue.

Tonight's episode, "A ia la aku" (From This Day Forward), will focus on the team's investigation of a wedding crasher, and their main suspect is the runaway bride. Meanwhile, Danny (Scott Caan) will make a big decision regarding his relationship with Gabby.

Entertainment Weekly also confirms that an upcoming episode will focus on Chin Ho. "There's an episode that's coming up in the future that delves into the origins of Chin Ho's career with the police and I'm excited for that episode," Daniel Dae Kim said. "It not only illuminates Chin Ho's relationship with McGarret's father but also we learn a little bit more about Chin Ho's family life when he was younger and the decisions he had to make to become a cop to begin with."
