The PlayStation 4 will become available on Nov. 15, and fans are eager to get their hands on the next-gen console. However, Sony has made an announcement concerning some headsets not working with the console at launch, which could leave some users in a bind. At the same time, Sony has discussed the original version of the PlayStation 4 and how it differed from the final product.

As Sony noted to Game Informercertain existing headsets, such as the company's own Pulse and Astro's A-series, will not work with the PlayStation 4 at launch. The company will eventually release a patch to allow these headsets to work with the console, though an exact time frame has yet to be announced. Sony had stated that the PlayStation 4 would work with all wireless headsets, but did not say they would work at launch. The PlayStation 4 will come with a wired mono headset in the meantime.

In the midst of the headset snafu, Sony has revealed the original versions of the PS4 on its blog. Tetsu Sumii, the chief designer for the PlayStation 4, revealed that the company did not have a set design or shape for the console when they first started planning.

"When we started the product design for PS4, we didn't start by thinking about what the shape would be..It was more about how we were going to create a new brand identity through the product," wrote Sumii.

This is seen in the pictures of the original PlayStation 4 design, which looked less like a rectangle and more like a rhombus. The console had sharp angles and looked to be made of two different sections. Sumii revealed the logic behind this design, saying that his team wanted to make the device look more distinctive and better than all of Sony's other.

"I think the PlayStation brand image needs to be changed a little bit, as it's a new console, and we have to show what we're pointing towards for the future, So I thought it should be one of the most smart, cool, and intelligent products from Sony. Not just from Sony Computer Entertainment, but the company as a whole."

Is the original design for the PlayStation 4 the best, or is the current look of the console better? Let us know in the comments below.
