The projections for Apple Inc.'s next smartphone have begun, and the top rumor concerns the iPhone's screens size.

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, via 9to5Mac, the 2014 iPhone is set to have a larger display size compared to its current models.

Kuo projected the next Apple smartphone, likely the iPhone 6, could have a screen size between 4.5 inches to 5 inches.

In addition, the analyst noted the screen will continue to utilize the in-cell touch display technology seen since the, now discontinued, iPhone 5.

Kuo's projection comes as Latinos Post reported the iPhone 6 might have a screen size of 4.8 inches, according to Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek.

Meanwhile, DisplaySearch analyst David Hsieh stated Apple is considering two sets of display-size increases for the iPhone 6, including an improved high-definition resolution, better than the current Retina Display. Hsieh said Apple is testing 4.7-inch panels and 5.7-inch panels with 1,280x720 pixels and 1080p resolution, respectively.

Since September 2012, Apple's latest iPhones have a screen size of 4 inches, which was an increase from the 3.5-inches seen on the iPhone 4s.

As Latinos Post reported, Apple confirmed 9 million units of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were sold during its first weekend on Sept. 20. The Cupertino-based organization, however, didn't reveal specific numbers for the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c. The two new Apple iPhones launched across Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States.
