Billboard Magazine Dedicates Cover to Jenni Rivera a Year After Her Death

Jenni Rivera continues to make the news a year after her tragic death and now prestigious magazine Billboard is the one honoring her on this week's edition.

The "Diva of Banda" left a great number of projects unfinished which would be released on 2013 if tragedy hadn't taken her last year.

According to information published by Univisión, Billboard has revealed on this week's article that "La Gran Señora", who would have been 44 this year, would have starred in her own TV show, expand her brand and launch a tequila carrying her name, among other projects.

At the time of her death, Rivera was one of the most renowned Mexican singers, and was an icon for women who saw themselves reflected in her powerful lyrics; however, Rivera planned to conquer the international markets this year, intentions that sadly came into fruition after her death.

On the early morning of December 9, 2012, after offering a concert for 17 thousand people in Monterrey, the plane on which she travelled lost contact with the control tower of the airport minutes after taking off and crashed in El Tejocote, in southern Nuevo León, informed then the news website of Televisa.

Billboard's magazine dedicates some of its article to narrating the distressing moments that her family and her manager, Peter Salgado, lived after the singer's accident, according to Univisión.

Despite everything, the singer's popularity has not diminished after her regrettable death, but rather has grown exponentially. In 2013, the Mexican singer received 10 nominations in the Billboard Mexican Music awards: Artist of the Year; Feminine Artist of the Year; Artist of the Year, Songs; Artist of the Year, Digital Downloads; Artist of the Year, Albums; and Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Banda.
