The PGA Tour Player of the Year Award went to Tiger Woods again, thought it remains uncertain how many votes he got after the voting results were surprisingly not released on Friday.

The 37-year-old Woods captured his 11th PGA Tour Player of the Year award after banking on a season-high five tournament wins and his return to the top of the world rankings this year.

However, golf fans were left wondering how unanimous Woods' latest Player of the Year win was, considering that there were also strong contenders for the PGA Tour's top year-end award.

Other than Woods, British Open champion Phil Mickelson, Masters Champion Adam Scott, FedEx Cup winner Henrik Stenson, and Matt Kuchar were also considered frontrunners for the PGA Tour Player of the Year Award.

"Would love to see vote totals. If they were public, would be 100 percent Tiger - since it's not, you know some voted against him," Golf Channel posted on its Twitter Tiger Tracker.

Mickelson captured the Phoenix Open and was the runner-up for the sixth time in his career at the U.S. Open Championship. Weeks later, Lefty won his first-ever British Open championship at Muirfield Golf Club. Scott won the Barclays Championship after getting the Green Jacket earlier this year while Stenson came out of nowhere to win both the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup crown.

Still, no one came close to match Woods' five tournament victories despite failing to land a Grand Slam title this year and his struggles to finish the season strong.

"It's been an incredible year to have won five times, two of those World Golf Championships and one Players," Woods said on a conference call Friday, according to CBS. "It's been just a fantastic year all around. It's also an incredible feeling to be voted by your peers, and to have that type of respect is something that's very humbling."

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Texan Jordan Spieth was named the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year after winning the John Deere Classic and reaching the Tour Championship this year. He also ended up 10th on the money list after bagging $4 million. Spieth will be the youngest golfer selected to represent the United States next week.
