Mexican singer Thalía will be awarded by Macy's in Herald Square, New York, this Thursday, Sept 26, at 6 p.m. for being one of the most influential Latinas in the United States thanks to her great artistic career and, according to People, for her contributions to Latinos in the U.S.

During the event, the singer will take the opportunity to invite her followers to support Mexicans who suffered the devastation of hurricanes. "It's important to be there as Mexicans and to be able to inspire people to help with a donation," she said.

The tragedy, which affected many states in the Mexican Republic, moved Thalía and prompted her to seek help from her followers in social networks. "It's very important to pass the message along, make it know that this is not temporary, this is going to take years of rebuilding," she stated.

Thalía, who also starred in multiple Mexican telenovelas, is currently supporting many organizations carrying out rescues and reconstruction in the afflicted regions of Mexico, among them are SúmateYa and the Mexican Red Cross, which has plans to launch the album "Voces por México" to gather funds for victims of the hurricanes.

"It's important to one way or another lend a helping hand and know that it's nothing that will end in the next few months. It will take years and we have to keep supporting them," the singer expressed while searching for support for her home country.

"An artist has that responsibility to make a rallying cry, to be able to awake the desire to help in someone. That is also the artist's job," she also added.

Through her Twitter account (@thalia), the artist continued to tweet messages looking for support among her followers, showing them various ways in which they can help Mexicans.

"We can all help, find out how at 11:30am here! Live conference #VocesPorMéxico at 11:30am (Mexico time) https://tco/GPzXsEoALV"
