HTC's newer flagship, the HTC One, might have most of the headlines nowadays, but that doesn't mean the older One X has been completely left out of the loop. In fact, the handset is scheduled to receive the latest version of HTC's Sense UI.

According to wireless carrier Vodafone Australia in an earlier blog post, HTC will upgrade the One X to Sense 5.5. The HTC One is expected to receive Sense 5.5 along with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in October, meaning this would put the One X on par with its newer cousin, albeit on the older Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Sense 5.5 will retain and build upon many of Sense's popular features, including BlinkFeed, which allows users to customize their homescreens to showcase relevant content and information.

No release date has been mentioned for the HTC One X Sense 5.5 update, and while a number of news outlets were able to capture screenshots of the webpage mentioning Sense 5.5, Vodafone seems to have changed its stance — the page now states that the update will only include Sense 5. We'll simply have to wait for more details, either from HTC or Vodafone, before we can confirm Sense 5.5 for the HTC One X.

In other HTC One X update news, U.S. carrier AT&T has yet to release Android 4.2 with Sense 5 for One Xs on its network. The upgrade is already available in a number of regions around the world, and through a number of different networks, making AT&T late to the party again. The carrier was slow in pushing out Android 4.1, and the same seems to be the case for Android 4.2.2, which is rumored to be the last Android version upgrade for the One X.
