Tom Hardy is rumored to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.

The Daily Express reported that Hardy is currently being pursued as a replacement for Craig once the current James Bond finishes the remainder of his five-film contract.

An unidentified source told the Daily Express, "Although Craig is signed up for the next two Bond films the search for his replacement is already on. Tom is right at the top of the wish list. He's been approached to gauge his interest and he's keen."

The source continued, "He is a respected actor with a great catalogue of films but most importantly he's the type of guy that all men want to be like and all women want to be with. He's perfect Bond material."

The source also said that Hardy was good for the series because the franchise had become so popular. The source stated, "The Bond franchise is getting more popular than ever. Getting the next Bond right is crucial to guarantee continued success and Hardy is seen as the man to do that."

Hardy is known for his work on "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," "Inception," "The Dark Knight Rises," "Bronson" and "Warrior." He was recently seen at the Venice Film Festival in his upcoming film "Locke."

Sony is currently working on James Bond 24, which will be directed by Sam Mendes and stars Craig. John Logan will write the script, while Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will produce. The film is set to be released in 2015 and details on the project will soon be announced.

Criag has starred in the James Bond films "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace" and "Skyfall."
