Rockstar Games has gone all out trying to make the world of Grand Theft Auto 5 as big and impressive as possible, with players able to explore a huge island area consisting of two different counties. Now, an interpreted Reddit user, "fakeittilyoumakeit," has made a comparison montage of the world of Grand Theft Auto 5 using several real world cities such as London, San Francisco and Toronto.

Los Santos consists of one giant city modeled after Los Angeles and other southern California towns, as well as the surrounding Blaine Country, which has vast stretches of forest, a large inland sea, and a local military base. The area that Rockstar has made is tremendous, and while the actual city of Los Santos does not compare to these real world metropolises, the world as a whole is easily comparable to places like Manhattan and the majority of San Francisco. That's quite a feat, especially because Rockstar promises the open world in the game will have minimal load times and players can switch between the three playable protagonists. Considering the game is coming out on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 instead of their next-gen replacements makes this feat even more impressive. A map comparing Los Santos to Liberty City, the setting of Grand Theft Auto 4, is also shown, and Los Santos is seen to be quite large compared to that fictional city.

Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released on Sept. 17, and fans are eager to get their hands on the game and explore. However, when the game is launched, one of the integral features will not be available. Grand Theft Auto Online will not be available until Oct. 1, so players who buy the game at launch will have to settle for the single player campaign for a few weeks. Players in both the online and offline mode will be able to explore the world of the game and partake in various missions ranging from robberies and heists, to playing golf and going skydiving. However, certain types of missions such as deathmatches and racing will only be found in the online mode, as players must work with or against members of their crew to achieve the goals.
