Weather is finally cooperating, with the forecast calling for mixed clouds, sun and a temperature in the low 80s, allowing for action to take place at the U.S. Open.

Rain has pushed matches back, with U.S. Open defending champions Serena Williams and Andy Murray seeing action in Day 5 of the U.S. Open. Murray, who quickly dispatched of Michael Llodra on Wednesday, takes on Argentina's Leonardo Mayer in the afternoon session at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Murray believes that coming back as champion has not effected his mental preparation or his opponent's approach to how they play him.

"Since we got here, we've spoken about what it's like coming back to a tournament being defending champion," said Murray. "It doesn't really make a whole lot of difference. I don't think too many of the other players really care about it, when they're stepping on the court."

Williams, who played both her second round singles and first-round doubles match on Thursday, is set to face Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova in the second night-time game at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Also set to play today are Argentinian Juan Martin del Potro taking on 2000 U.S. Open winner Lleyton Hewitt, number 15th ranked Sloane Stephens takes on fellow American number 23rd ranked Jamie Hampton, and China's Li Na (5th in the world) gets a rematch against British teenager 30th- seeded Laura Robson, who eliminated her in the same round a year ago.
