You can count the weeks on one hand. Summer is winding down. Fall is approaching. The real world is creeping around the corner, ready to pounce and snatch the any remaining sentiments from your much-needed vacation. Luckily, this dreadful period is graced with a silver lining. Television's heavy hitters will return, providing fellow working stiffs with structure to their weeks. A favorite show will get us through the week. During the long winter months, there's nothing better than snuggling under a mountain of blankets, next to a roaring fire, a cup of hot chocolate in one hand and the remote in the other.

One of autumn's most anticipated shows, "NCIS: LA," is set to return for its fifth season, and as rumors indicate, it's bound to be the most thrilling yet. For Detective Deeks in particular, season 5 will be chockfull of pain, danger and romance. He has plenty on his plate, and a recent interview with Eric Christian Olsen, who plays Deeks on the show, provides fans with insight into his budding relationship with Kensi.

In the season premiere alone, the duo will have "the most honest conversation that Deeks and Kensi have ever had," Olsen told TVLine. The episode "picks up exactly where we left off, continuous - [Deeks is] mid-torture, Kensi's in peril... I can't give it away, but even that is 'To Be Continued...'"

Olsen also shared that the aftermath of the season 5 finale will have ramifications like nothing ever seen before on the show, claiming that the premiere will be nothing short of "a great episode of television."

"This is the darkest and most honest and the most vulnerable and more heartbreaking episode for Deeks, but also for the other characters. The best scene that has ever been written for [Deeks and Sam] happens in the premiere," he said during an earlier interview. "We've already filmed it, and [LL Cool J] is so good. And the most honest scene that Deeks and Kensi have ever had together happens in the premiere."

"NCIS: LA" returns to CBS September 24.
