Legendary actress and singer Daniela Romo, who stars in the troubled Televisa soap opera "La Tempestad" alongside Ximena Navarrete, Ivan Sanchez and William Levy, has come out in defense of the Cuban actor and all the rumors that have surrounded his behavior on set.

''It's good that we are surrounded by a certain mystery and that not everything about us is out there and known. That mystery makes things exciting but I must say that the things being said about William are not true. I love him and he has been very professional," the actress said.

The actress explained further how close her relationship to the young hearthrob is, "This is my third soap opera working with William and I've loved the experience and I love him. In a sense we are both very similar. We share the same zodiac sign, and in the past we have celebrated some birthdays together because they are only two days apart, we a few years apart obviously, but this year we will be celebrating together again.''

Rumors have plagued "La Tempestad" ever since it first debuted in Mexico, where it has been struggling with poor ratings. It was recently announced that this will be Levy's final telenovela with Televisa and he will pursue his career in the United States once shooting is finished.

Romo also took a moment to comment on her young co-star Ximena Navarrete. ''She has been a very pleasant surprise. She is very dedicated and she studies a lot. She has been improving herself everyday and for that I admire her and thank her so so much," the experienced actress said.

Romo, who has focused on her acting career in the last few years was very candid about shooting in the scorching heat in the small town of Alvarado in the eastern coastal state of Veracruz. "It has been a treat to be here, altough it can get really hot. For example William jumps off the boat and soaks in the sea to cool off, but some of us can't do that, and it's even worse now that it's the summer and the heat is very strong."

The actress also commented on Spaniard Ivan Sanchez, who is rumored to have signed a contract to be Televisa's in house hearthrob to replace Levy. "He has become almost a Mexican he has learned a lot of the slang. Although his character may seem pedantic and frightening, in reality Ivan is very light-hearted and a wonderful person."
