The saga of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android update continues. This time, a German wireless company has told their customers that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be updated to Android 4.3, skipping the Android 4.2.2 update.

All About Samsung, the German tech site that also found the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus Android 4.2.2 update days ago that sparked the Android update fever, spotted the Deutsche Telekom forum where the update was confirmed.

Things have been confusing and frustrating for Samsung Galaxy S3 owners this summer. Previously, there had been speculation that the Samsung Galaxy S3 was due for an update, which was then followed by a supposed leak in India by an anonymous "Samsung R&D insider" that said the 2012 flagship devices were due for an Android 4.3 update, skipping the Android 4.2.2 update.

That rumor was reinforced by an Australian telecom company saying that the Galaxy Note 2 would be skipping the Android 4.2.2 update in favor of an Android 4.3 update. If the Galaxy Note 2 was going to receive the latest Android system, surely its flagship cousin, the Galaxy S3 would as well, the thinking went.

Then Android was revealed and began rolling out to Nexus devices, followed by the Google Play editions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One. Confusingly, Samsung then began updating some of its devices to Android 4.2.2. But these first devices were far from flagships: the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. But there's been no word on the non-Google edition Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update, which is something that will probably happen before it filters down to the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Still, Google's Android 5.0 is expected to be revealed on or around the Android operating system's fifth birthday, which is in late October of this year, and if Samsung is going to have the new "Key Lime Pie" on any of its 2013 flagships, it will probably first update to Android 4.3 months before Key Lime Pie is available. Which means sometime soon; meaning the Galaxy S3 update should be soon after.

So keep your fingers crossed. The evidence is piling up for an Android 4.3 update, skipping the 4.2.2, but there's still no indication of how soon.
