iMore says that "This information comes from sources who have proven accurate in the past."
The iPhone 5 will, among many other things, most likely be the biggest consumer electronics device of 2012. It will be the biggest overhaul to the iPhone design in a couple years, and
Leaks have shown that the iPhone 5 will sport a larger, 4-inch display and it will most likely support 4G LTE. It should also come with a smaller, 19-pin dock connector that would make current iPhone accessories useless. Also rumored is the inclusion of NFC technology, and a metal back casing.
Apple is also launching the new iOS 6 this fall as well, and almost certainly will include it on the iPhone 5.
iMore also expects Apple to show off the new iPad Mini, a new iPod Nano, and a new iPod Touch at the same event on September 12. None of these devices were given release dates.
Apple may be rushing to get the iPhone 5 out after Samsung has been dominating them in the smartphone market with double the smartphone sales of Apple in the second quarter of 2012. The success of the Galaxy S3, and the lagging iPhone 4S sales due to people simply holding out for the iPhone 5 mean that an iPhone 5 launch is probably very high on Apple's priority list.
