For a while it looked like Verizon was getting the HTC One today, August 1. But don't rush out to the store to get one, it's now looking like, due to certain factors, Verizon's release date for the HTC One has been pushed back to August 15.

The flagship phone for the Taiwanese company, the HTC One, was rumored to be released by Verizon Wireless on August 1. Leaks had pegged it to that date, and HTC fans were looking forward to the first of the month. But then Motorola had to come in and release the Moto X. So now it looks like the already beleaguered HTC will have to wait for its best offering to make it to one of the U.S.'s top carriers. According to the leak, they (and HTC One fans with Verizon Wireless) will have to wait until August 15.

That's according to Droid-Life, which has received a document from anonymous sources - which looks just like the previous document, pegging the HTC One to an August 1 release date - that simply says "HTC One launch moved to 8/15."

When it does finally launch on Verizon Wireless though, you might want to look for it in blue. That's according to an exclusive (anonymous) tip reported by PhoneArena, which says that that Big Red is getting a big blue HTC One. Apparently, Verizon's inventory systems have been updated with a new stock keeping unit, which includes the description "HTC One in Blue."

PhoneArena's sources also confirmed that a launch for the HTC One will happen in August, but couldn't confirm the August 15 launch date. Meanwhile, the HTC One is already available on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile, making Verizon the one major carrier that is very late to the party.

The HTC One is HTC's flagship phone, sporting a 4.7-inch 1080p display packed with 468 pixels per inch. It's powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB RAM. You can get 32GB internal storage or 64GB, but there's no microSD slot to expand. According to recent reports, the HTC One will be released with Android 4.2.2 on board. Finally, the HTC One comes with an "Ultrapixel" 4-megapixel camera, which the company claims out-shoots the competition's 13-megapixel cameras, and it has a front-facing 2-megapixel camera as well.
