Rockstar Games have released a dozen new screenshots on their official website for Grand Theft Auto 5, showing a wide variety of new vehicles and action that the game's three playable characters can partake in. Rockstar also hinted that gamers can get their first big taste of the game's online mode in August, but failed to further elaborate.

The screenshots, entitled "The Fast Life by Rockstar," show several interesting scenarios players will be able to inject themselves into. One screenshot shows a plane flying high over Los Santos with its engine on fire. Another airborne scenario depicts the player piloting a military helicopter, meaning players may be able to rain down some serious punishment on civilians in Los Santos, or at least release some "28 Weeks Later"-style rotor blade action on unsuspecting pedestrians. Finally, we see a character jumping off the bridge with a backpack on, indicating that players will be able to skydive and base jump throughout the game.

Some new vehicles are also seen in this gallery. A fancy new sports car is shown on the highway, and a speedboat is also seen in use among the screenshots. Another screenshot shows a character climbing into a different boat, called "Dignity." Finally, we see Trevor shirtless and helmetless on an ATV, being pulled over by the police. Perhaps Los Santos has strict helmet laws?

Rockstar also chose to release some screenshots highlighting each of the three characters in the game. Trevor possibly gets the best character screenshot, seen inside a strip club with dancers stretching out behind him as he poses with a sleeveless shirt advertising something called "Love Fist."  Michael gets a pretty dramatic shot of him looking quite dapper in dress clothes holding a handgun up, as well as a photo of him relaxing in the sun with ear buds and shades. Franklin also gets his fair share of screen time, as he is seen on a veranda overlooking the sunset with a Rottweiler joining him. Franklin is also seen riding a motorcycle at night during a rainstorm, shooting off a handgun at an unknown target.

As usual, Rockstar has left us intrigued at the new possibilities suggested in these new screenshots, and left a carrot dangling in front of the fans with the announcement of online news coming next month.
