Earlier reports had pointed to bad relations between Fonseca and some of the staff at the residency. Some of them refused to retract statements made against her predecessor, Gerardo Carrillo Silva. Administrative assistant at the Venezuelan Embassy Jose Miguel Reyes Reyes also said that the residency staff "were never fired," they just "refused to acknowledge Fonseca's authority"
The Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that they were looking into the allegations made against Silva.
Gerardo Carrillo Silva spent six years at his Kenyan post before leaving. Olga Fonseca replaced him.
Ms. Fonseca had moved into her official diplomatic residence, which is surrounded by an electric fence, only two days before she was discovered dead in her bedroom by residency staff. She had only been in the country since July 15.
The Chief of Nairobi police, Anthony Kibuchi, stated that the investigation was going well and he told media that plans on charging some of the suspects on Monday or Tuesday.
