With every end there's a new beginning. With every goodbye there's a welcome back. Fans of the hit series "NCIS" should be well versed in this subject as the show's 11th season approaches. While many fans wallow in recent news that Cote de Pablo will be leaving, others embrace the arrivals of recurring actors. Colin Hanks has now confirmed that he's back on the set and working on several episodes that will air early in the season.

In a recent Twitter post, the actor wrote, "Back on the NCIS set and I've decided that when I die I want to come back as Mark Harmon's dog. #RealWondermutt." Although he didn't necessarily give fans an idea of what exactly he's doing on set, it's good to know he's back.

Hanks appeared in the final episodes of last season as Department of Defense Investigator Richard Parsons, a character executive producer Gary Glasberg describes as "Ken Starr, J. Edgar Hoover and an angry pitbull wrapped into one."

Pablo on the other hand, whose contract expired at the end of season 10, will make an appearance at the onset of the upcoming season, as previously reported. She's making her brief return to conclude Ziva's story. Then it's time to say goodbye.

Fortunately, the goodbye won't be brisk. Instead of making a one-off appearance, it looks like Pablo will stretch out her farewell stay. She will appear in several episodes, which suggests that her story will be properly wrapped instead of quickly tossed aside as an incomplete thought. Although Pablo may be anxious to move on, the show is in its 11th season afterall, it's promising to see that she and her producers found a solution that will cater to her adoring fans. Instead of taking the easy way out and putting a bullet between her eyes, they'll get to say a proper goodbye.

"NCIS" will return to CBS September 24 for the departure of Ziva and the reappearance of Colin Hanks.
