Once a secretive shroud of "what ifs," the Moto X has virally been taking shape over the past couple weeks as leaks have revealed juicy details about the handset. One video leak, a promo for the Canadian wireless service provider Rogers, shows off the phone as well as several of its features - here's what they are.

Release Date: Probably the most-requested piece of information about any phone, the release date is mentioned at the end of the video as August. No specific date is given, although the Rogers spokesperson does say it will be available in both black and white. The August release date lines up with a leaked Verizon Wireless memo which showed that the carrier expects to launch the Moto X on August 23. Remember, Roger is a Canadian carrier.

Always-On Voice Commands: Seems the Moto X will be listening in, all the time. According to the video, the Moto X won't need to be prompted for voice commands. The user should simply be able to talk to the smartphone without any need for gestures or button pressing, and Google Now will deliver answers. How exactly the phone will distinguish its owner over other people's voices remains to be seen.

LTE Support: This one's more a sigh of relief than anything. Motorola phones generally have supported LTE in the past, but Google handsets (a.k.a. the Nexus series) have lacked it in the past. Seeing as how Google is throwing a lot of weight behind the Moto X, it's good to know LTE, which is now becoming a standard, will be supported.

No LED notifications: It looks like Motorola will try and change an industry standard by moving away from LED notifications. Instead, the phone will display the relevant notification on screen and ask you what you would like to do with it. This could pose a problem for users who are away from their phone for so long that the screen goes black, but we'll have to wait and see for ourselves how that scenario will play out in real life.

Camera: There's no mention of how many megapixels the camera will sport (although rumors peg it at 10 megapixels) and instead the video focuses on how the camera can be activated by a couple quick snaps of the wrist. Users will also be able to take multiple shots simply by holding down their finger.

Other rumored specs for the device include a 2-megapixel front shooter and a 1.7GHz dual-core processor. Customers who order directly from Motorola will be able to customize the backplate material from a selection of materials such as plastic, wood, ceramic, and metal.

What do you think of the Moto X? Will you be picking one up? Let us know why or why not in the comments section below.
