Belarus took advantage of an inefficient Kiwi offense to win 1-0 over New Zealand.
The Europeans looked overwhelmed in the early going as New Zealand took chance after chance but failed to convert a play into a goal. After 20 minutes however, the Belarusians took the game back and produced their own wealth of opportunities.

Belarus finally broke through in the final minutes of the first half. A corner kick was missed by Kiwi keeper Michael O'Keefe enabling Belarus midfielder Dmitry Baga a header into the net.
Belarus looked more confident through the second half, but the Kiwis battled to tie the match. In the end, Belarus was simply the superior squad.
Belarus outshot New Zealand 18 to 9 for the match and had 13 corner kicks to the Kiwis' 3.
Belarus gets a chance next against Brazil while New Zealand and Egypt will square off.
