With the launch of the Lumia 1020, AT&T now carries two key Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphones.

Nokia has referred to the Lumia 920 as their flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, exclusive in the U.S. with AT&T, but now the Finnish-based company has to promote another device under exclusive rights with the same carrier.

For potential customers wanting to buy either a Lumia 920 or Lumia 1020, the two smartphone have similar specifications but there are pros and cons with each device.

Starting with the display, the Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 share the same screen size of 4.5 inches and a pixel resolution of 1,280x768. The two smartphones also have the same pixels per inch with 332.

The smartphones share approximately the same frame, yet it is the Lumia 1020 that weighs less. The Lumia 920's dimensions include a length of 5.13 inches, 2.79 width, and depth of 0.42 inches. The Lumia 1020's frame includes the same length size, 2.81 width, and 0.41 for depth. The Lumia 1020 weighs 5.57 ounces compared to the Lumia 920's 6.53 ounces.

While the two Lumia devices are available with 32GB of internal storage, the Lumia 1020 has 2GB of RAM, which is 1GB higher than the Lumia 920. The two smartphones do not carry a microSD card slot.

The wireless connectivity for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 are the same with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth and NFC enabled, and USB version 2.0.

A major selling point for the Lumia 1020 is the rear-facing camera. The Lumia 1020 sports a camera with 41 megapixels and 7,152x5,368 pixels, which trounces the 8 megapixels and 3,264x2,448 pixels for the Lumia 920's rear-facing camera.

The front-facing cameras for the two Lumia smartphones are the same with 1.2 megapixels.

The video camera for both Lumias can record at 1080p at 30 frames per second. The front-facing cameras can record at 720p.

The Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 utilize the same Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor with dual-core 1.5GHz Krait.

The battery capacity is the same at 2,000mAh, however, it doesn't bode well for the Lumia 1020. The Lumia 920's standby time can go up to 400 hours, more than the 383 hours on the Lumia 1020. The Lumia 920 has up to 10 hours on talk time when under a 3G network, down in comparison to the Lumia 1020's 13 hours and 20 minutes, according to GSM Arena.

The Lumia 1020 has an expected sale date of July 26 for $299.99 when signing a two-year contract. The Lumia 920, currently available, is priced at $99.99 when signing a two-year contract, but can be found with cheaper prices on Amazon.
