The Pokémon franchise has confirmed the new professor and villainous team for "Pokémon X and Y."

Upon starting the "Pokémon X and Y" adventure, players will be introduced to Professor Augustine Sycamore. Prof. Sycamore, as have past professors, will give the player one of the three starter Pokémons, Chespin, Fennekin, or Froakie.

According to Bulbapedia, the player will meet Prof. Sycamore at Lumiose City, the main hub of the Kalos Region. He will also officially become the first professor to battle the player at various points in the game. Prof. Sycamore's name continues the tradition of Pokémon professors named after trees, succeeding Profs. Samuel Oak, Elm, Birch, Rowan, and Aurea Juniper.

The new criminal organization for the Kalos region is Team Flare. Information on the new villainous team is scare but the "fashionable" group is known to wear bright red attire and were seen using a Houndour in a new Pokémon trailer, likely signifying their specialty will be Fire-type Pokémon.

Team Flare may be an organization similar to the original Team Rocket from the first and second generation. Team Rocket has worked on various schemes but notably made efforts on making money, and Team Flare is reportedly set on making a few Poké dollars across Kalos.
