It finally feels like we're getting somewhere. Since season 3 of "The Walking Dead" ended last spring, the show's return has felt like an eternity away. It's still only July, but with the volume of details and photos making their way down from production, the new season seems to be right around the corner. In reality it is. October will be upon us in the blink of an eye. It's unfathomable how quickly time moves, but it does. At times its haste can be discouraging, but for some, like those eager for the return of "The Walking Dead," it comes as a blessing. As the days quickly pass by, fans dig to get their paws on information that will give them a better understanding of what's to come, and as they continue digging, more and more surfaces.

A recent photo from the set features a mysteriously masked Daryl Dixon, sparking mass speculation as to what he may be up to. There are plenty of speculations, none of which pop out as more plausible than the rest. He could be covering a wound, he could be embarking on a bloody zombie slaughter spree or he could be protecting himself from something in the air. We don't know and we won't know until after the season 4 premiere. Check out the photo here.

Whatever it is, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl is certainly a fan. He previously informed fans that episode 1 would kick off the season with a bang, and now in a new radio interview with Sirius XM, he assures fans that there's plenty more to follow.

"The scripts this season are just amazing," Reedus said. "The sets are crazy. It feels like we've shot about three movies already. It's super intense, and everything's for a reason, a specific reason, and it's great right now."

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC October 13.
