Every season show creator extraordinaire Shonda Rhimes captivates viewers with her action packed drama premieres and finales. It seems like this year will be no different for the season 10 premiere of her hit drama series "Grey's Anatomy." Following last season's mega cliffhangers, fans have been eagerly waiting for details on their favorite couples.

Rumors have run rampant regarding the future of two quintessential "Grey's" couples--Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) as well as Christina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd). While a cheating bombshell rocked Calzona's relationship, it seemed like Christina and Owen had finally called it quits. Where the two couples stand in the upcoming season remains to be seen, but reports that the upcoming season will be filled with breakups point to some very unhappy doctor couples.

But the two couples aren't the only ones keeping fans anxious. Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) shippers were excited to hear April finally confess her feelings for him but were left hanging for his response this upcoming season. Fans will have to wait and see what the new season brings for the on-off friends with benefits.

Now, new details surrounding the season's premiere this fall have made its way out of the writers' room. According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, things will be anything but peaceful come fall. "It appears that things refuse to remain sleepy in Shonda Rhimes' Seattle, seeing as the Season 10 opener will involve a group of firefighters," Mitovich teased.

He added, "There may also be a bit of a 'two-parter' feel to the ABC drama's return-heck, may it will even turn out to be an actual two-hour premiere a la Seasons 5, 6 and 8-since several of the guest-starring roles, including one fireman's fiancé, will span two episodes."

After the long wait in between seasons, a two-hour premiere will be just what fans need to jump right into the tenth season.

ABC has yet to release information on the show's season premiere date, but it's expected that the show will remain in its normal Thursday night time slot.
