Verizon customers rejoice: the HTC One for Verizon has been spotted passing through the FCC, meaning the release date is not too far off.

Avid tech junkies have spotted an FCC filing for an HTC One, and while there isn't a specific carrier listed in the document, it's pretty obvious it's headed to Verizon from the specs listed. According to the FCC, the model is certified for LTE band 13 (Verizon's band), GSM 850/1900, and CDMA 850/1900. There's little doubt this is the Verizon HTC One.

There's still no specific time frame listed, and while a previous rumor pegged Sept. 5 as the possible release date, that date was quickly debunked. Instead, there now whispers among Verizon reps that August will be the month Big Red unveils the 1080p aluminum handset.

An August release would fit well with HTC's upcoming strategy, as poor sales and public relations have caused the once-hailed Android manufacturer to revaluate its aggressiveness in an increasingly crowded Android market dominated by rival Samsung. The fall will bring a slew of new flagships, including a new Apple iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and an August launch on America's largest wireless network would allow HTC to scoop up some customers before the One is overshadowed by newer, shinier devices during the busy holiday shopping season.

The Verizon HTC One will reportedly sport the same specs as it does on other carriers, meaning it will come with a 4.7-inch 1080 display that puts out 468 pixels per inch, a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB of memory, an HTC "UltraPixel" rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The HTC One currently runs Android 4.1.2 out of the box, although an Android 4.2.2 update is slowly releasing around the globe. The One will also feature HTC's latest user interface, Sense 5, with Blinkfeed and video highlights.

Are you going to pick up the HTC One on Verizon Wireless when it releases? If so, what makes it more attractive to you over other Android phones? Let us know in the comments section below.
