Anne Hathaway of "The Dark Knight Rises" is the latest actress to cut her hair for the role of Fantine in "Les Miserables."
The actress is the latest in a line of stars that have done the same in order to prepare for their roles.
In 2007 Mexican actress Barbara Mori cut her hair for the role of Paola in the Mexican film "Cosa Insignificantes" while Demi Moore did it for the role of "GI Jane" in 1997. The role not only required a hair cut but for her to slim down and train as a solider.

Natalie Portman cut her hair in 2005 for the role of Evey in "V for Vendetta".
Finally Hilary Swank also chopped her locks in 1997 for "Boys Don't Cry." The actress received an Oscar for the role of Brandon Teena where Swank was also forced to act as a boy throughout the movie.
With the film of "Les Miserables" Anne Hathaway not only had to cut her hair but she also had to use her singing abilities. The film is directed by Tom Hooper who recently won an Academy Award for directing for "The King's Speech" and now Oscar buzz has begun on his latest film which also stars Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Helena Boham Carter.
