Can you smell that? Yup, that's the smell of freedom. The Fourth of July is finally here and we bet you're so pumped to celebrate this milestone with your family and friends over some barbecue, a few drinks and of course, fireworks displays.

If you're planning to celebrate Independence Day outside, you can probably hit these Fourth of July parades, events and firework displays across Houston

Check out which ones are closest to your side of town.

Freedom Over Texas

The official Fourth of July celebration of Mayor Annise Parker, the event will take place on Eleanor Tinsley Park from 4 to 10 p.m. Aside from the awaited fireworks extravaganza, Sheryl Crow and Martina McBride will also be entertaining guests with their music. Activities and booths will also be available at the venue.

Admission: $8 (children 5 and below are free)

ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights: A Star Spangled Salute

Happening at the Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park Drive, the celebration will start at 8:30 p.m. It will feature The Houston Symphony and will end with the fireworks display accompanied by music.

Admission: Free

Red, Hot & Blue Festival

The festival will feature live music, games, face painting for kids and a ton more other activities that the whole family will enjoy. A fireworks display will also start at dusk, with music streamed over Sunny 99.1 FM.

Venue: tow Green Park and Waterway Square

Wreaths Across America Tribute at National Cemetery

Fourth of July is all about honoring the lives of those that have sacrificed for the freedom of our country, and what better way to celebrate this day than by paying tribute to the fallen heroes.

The event will start at sunrise (7 a.m.) with volunteers reading the names of the fallen heroes, according to Click2Houston. It will happen at 10410 Veterans Drive.

Admission: Free, Donations are accepted

Pearland Celebration of Freedom

Happening at Pearland High School football stadium, the event encourages families to join the fun. They can also bring their own food. The Texas Unlimited Band will entertain guests before the fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

Galveston Fourth of July Parade

The parade will run along Seawall Boulevard, between 28th and 59th. The parade will start at 7:45 p.m. with the fireworks display starting at past 9 p.m. over the water.

LaCenterra's Big Backyard Barbecue

The event will be a big backyard party with families enjoying barbecue over picnic. Kids' activities will also be available, as well as a fireworks display. The event will start at 5:30 to 9:45 p.m.
