A September release date of the Apple's latest smartphone iPhone 5 has surfaced after a Chinese accessory manufacturer claimed Apple told them directly.
Most analysts claim the iPhone 5 would be released in October, the same month the iPhone 4S was released last year.
If the Sept. 21 date is proven true, it may have come after Samsung announced its Galaxy S3 sold over 10 million units since its launch two months ago.

French website App4Phone quoted the Chinese accessory manufacturer who claimed Apple directly told them the date. Other details in the report include a new iPhone 5 will feature a nano-slim system that is 40 percent small than the micro-sim used in current smartphones.
The 30-pin power connector, used in most smartphones, is reported to be dropped, going for a new 19-pin connector.
According to ChangeWave, a consumer research company, anticipation for Apple's newest smartphone reached new levels.
"The biggest finding of the survey is the unprecedented level of advance demand for the next generation Apple iPhone, which based on these survey numbers easily dwarfs the advance demand of any previous iPhone launch," said ChangeWave's Research Vice President Paul Carton.
A statement by Plugged-in KGI Securities analysts Ming-Chi Kuo to MacRuumors also stated about the iPhone 5's September release, along with future Apple products set to be in market.
Kuo said, "iPhone 5 to debut in September. But due to in-cell touch panel and casing yield rate limits, ability to offset older models' shipments decrease will be moderate."
Kuo added that the iPad mini will also debut later in September.
"Though shipments of iPad mini's components will start in August, the new iPad line will end production, ready for transition to a modified New iPad line, said Kuo. "As such, component shipments will drop in August as iPad mini's components shipments growth will be offset. On a side note, the modified New iPad shares the same exterior as the original model, but contains modifications to correct its thermal dissipation problem and lower-cost components."
The iPad mini is reported to be as thin as an iPod touch and features a 7.85-inch display with prices ranging from $249 to $299.
Apple has not commented on the rumors and release date of the iPhone 5.
