The Wimbledon Open championships are expected to get even fiercer for the start of the second week of competition at All England Tennis Club as 16 players from the men's and women's side try to book their spots in the quarterfinal round of the world's most prestigious tennis tournament.

After six days of top notch tennis, the playing field is now narrowed to the very bests. Surprisingly, the second week of play does not feature former champions like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova, who all fell victims to the wrath of Wimbledon in their early rounds.

While the stakes are set to get higher, the pressure and intensity will also skyrocket in the coming days. A single mistake could be fatal to the Grand Slam bid of these players, so expect them to perform at the highest level.

Serena Williams looks to continue her dominance into the second week as she takes on Germany's Sabine Lisicki in the first match on Center Court. Williams has a 2-0 head-to-head advantage over Lisicki with their last match seeing the German retiring due to injury in the quarterfinal of Family Circle Cup.

Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic is still in form to win his second Wimbledon title in three years after demolishing his first three opponents in the tournament. Djokovic will play Tommy Haas of Germany in the final match scheduled on Center Court.

Great Britain's Andy Murray and Laura Robson are also doing well in the tourney, reaching the fourth round of the Wimbledon Open. Murray will take on Mikhail Youzhny of Russia in the second match on Center Court while Robson will play Kaia Kanepi of Estonia in the first match on Court no.1.

Monday's schedule will also feature fourth-round battle between Andreas Seppi and Juan Martin Del Potro, Tomas Berdych and Bernard Tomic, David Ferrer and Ivan Dodig, and Agnieszka Radwańska and Tsvetana Pironkova.
