We're getting closer. With each passing day, E. L. James and newly appointed director Sam Taylor-Johnson are closing to reaching a decision on who will play the lead roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. They've remained mum on the topic since the get go, choosing to withhold any spoiler information from fans. They haven't even announced who they're considering. In reality, it's anybody's game, but fans have made their decision clear. There are several top contenders that continue to snag headlines in the "50 Shades" casting arena, however, there's one potential Ana and Christian duo that are leagues ahead of the others.
Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel have stolen the hearts of many "50 Shades" fans worldwide. Not only would they make for a gorgeous couple on the big screen, but they also have the experience and pre-established fan base to help propel the film to 50 shades of success.
Okay, terrible jokes aside, Bomer and Bledel do have an expansive following that surpasses that of any other potential duo. They've starred in several mock trailers, which accumulatively have generated tens of millions of view, far more than any others. Two in particular, each of which debuted 11 months ago, clock in at more than 6.7 million and 5.4 million views. Another, posted only two months back, is approaching 500,000 with no signs of letting up anytime soon. Another, yes there are many, sits comfortably at 300,000. Watch them below.
Other top contenders, such as Ian Somerhalder, have also experienced their fare share of success on YouTube, however, nothing compares to that of Bomer and Bledel, the reigning champs. Now that things on the "50 Shades" front are moving forward, it's only a matter of time before James and Taylor-Johnson announce their decision. Should they adhere to the pleas of their fans?
