As OS X Mountain Lion Release Date Approaches, Apple Reminds Free 10.8 Upgrade Available for 30 Days

With Apple's latest OS X upgrade soon to launch, people who have purchased a Mac on or after June 11, 2012 are reminded that the Mountain Lion will be available to download without a cost for 30 days.

The release date is heavily rumored to land on July 25, or this coming Wednesday, one day after Apple will announce its 2 quarter earnings reports.

The prediction arises not only from what Apple did last year when they introduced the OS X Lion a day after revealing their earnings, but also because reportedly Apple is planning overnights for its staff in its U.S. and overseas Apple Stores on Tuesday, July 24.

Overnights normally consist of company crew setting up poster boards or glass stickers displaying the launch of a new product. The latest example of such from another corporation is Starbucks which recently launched its Refreshers beverage that was highlighted all throughout its stores in the U.S.

As for the 30 days grace period to download the OS X 10.8, Mountain Lion, here is what Apple states on its website:

The OS X Mountain Lion Up-To-Date upgrade will be available at no additional charge from the Mac App Store to all customers who purchase a qualifying new Mac system from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller on or after June 11, 2012.

Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between June 11, 2012 and the date when Mountain Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from the date Mountain Lion becomes available to make their Up-To-Date request.

Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac after Mountain Lion becomes available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from the date they purchase their Mac to make their Up-to-Date request.
