June 25, 2013-Yesterday, the world commemorated Michael Jackson's death with vivid memories of the life he lived and the music he created. It's been four years after the King of Pop's death and his name still makes headlines.

In 2009, Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest due to prescription drug overdose of the anesthetic propofol and was found dead in his home. His death shocked the entire world as millions offered prayers for the Jackson family. He was 50.

Jackson's remains are kept at the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale where fans and close friends from across the world gather each year to remember the music icon and his legacy.

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, hundreds of fans gathered at the mausoleum Tuesday to pay their respects, say a prayer, and leave red roses for their beloved idol. Many even travelled from across the globe carrying posters, photographs, and other mementos to remember the star. As they lingered by the mausoleum and as more people kept arriving, fans were reportedly heard chanting "Michael!" in an outburst of emotion for a person that to them was and is a part of their life.

After Michael's death in 2009, the Jackson family filed a case against Dr. Murray that eventually convicted him of involuntary manslaughter for administering the lethal dose of the prescription drug. He is now serving time in jail.

Jackson's death left behind his three children: Prince Michael Jackson II, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., and Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson. All are now under the custody of their grandmother Katherine Jackson and adult cousin TJ Jackson.

Years have passed since his death, but Michael Jackson's legacy and unparalleled contribution to the music industry will forever be remembered and celebrated by the world. More fans are expected to troop to the Great Mausoleum to pay their respects in the following days.
