Ann Curry returned to NBC's 'Today' show during the weekend as anchor covering the latest developments of the unfolding details on the Aurora, Colorado theater shooting that left the entire nation shocked and in grief.
Savannah opened the show but then ceded the cameras to Curry who was reporting on ground with the shooting scene, Century 16, just behind her back.

Curry appeared in various segments of the show on Saturday talking about the stories that have risen as a result of the shooting, including interviewing a couple that had taken their kids to the theater than night and ended up alive but wounded, as well as giving a summary of the life of James Holmes, the suspect.
As she interviewed the couple, it was apparent that Curry was not only drawn to what the couple was saying about the crime scene that night, but also aching as her reddy eyes tried to contain the tears that were forming while listening to the horrifying accounts.

Ann Curry left the 'Today' show last month, a decision made by NBC, in order for the network to fend-off the rating slumps the show has suffered so far this year. Curry named NBC's anchor-at-large and was replaced by Savannah Guthrie.
The Colorado theater shooting left 12 people killed and 58 wounded. James Holmes, the shooting suspect, will appear on court on Monday.
