The first day of action at All-England Club saw a number of flawless performances from previous Wimbledon Open champs such as Maria Sharapova and Roger Federer. Ironically, it also produced several upsets - including a historic one on Court no.1.

Unheralded Belgian netter Steve Darcis came through with the game of his life to beat two-time Wimbledon Champion Rafael Nadal in a shocking fashion, 7-6(7-4), 7-6(10-8), 6-4, in the first round of the 2013 Wimbledon Open. Nadal's surprising exit totally changed the landscape in this year's grass-court Grand Slam tourney, which could see more shockers in the coming the days.

Day 2 of Wimbledon Open competitions resumes on Tuesday morning with the second half of the first-round play.

World's no.1 Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic are scheduled to play their first-round assignments, facing unheralded yet still dangerous opponents.

Williams takes on Mandy Minella of Luxemburg in the first match on Center Court while Djokovic played Florian Meyer of Germany in the next game. French Open runner up David Ferrer faces Argentine Martín Alund for the last match on Center Court.

Court No.1 will also feature exciting first round battle between Juan Martín del Potro and Alberto Ramos; Maria Kirilenko and Britain's very own Laura Robson; and Tomáš Berdych and Martin Kližan.

Meanwhile, Court 3 will have Britain's Heather Watson going against Madison Keys; Tommy Haas playing Dmitry Tursunov; Marcel Granollers taking on Richard Gasquet, and Agnieszka Radwańska battling Yvonne Meusburger.
