The horrific case of a shooting rampage in Aurora, Co., that left 12 dead and around 50 injured at a "The Dark Knight Rises" midnight screening seems to get stranger as the details unfold. Police trying to uncover a motive behind 24-year-old James Holmes' shooting spree are having trouble entering the gunman's apartment because it is booby trapped.

Police are stating that the apartment is heavily booby-trapped, and after having notified the families of victims, are now turning their attention to Holmes' home. They have figured out a plan to enter the explosive-ridden apartment.
"The most immediate threat is the trip wire," Sergeant Cassidee Carlson of the Aurora Police Department said. The police stated that they will try and avoid the trip wires, but that they may also have to initiate controlled explosions throughout the day to fully disarm all the booby traps."
There are still unknowns," Sergeant Carlson said. "We are not exactly sure of everything that is in there."
Holmes, a medical school dropout, opened fire at a midnight screening of the new Christopher Nolan flick, and then gave himself up in the parking lot to police while explaining that his apartment was rigged with explosives, officials said. Why he decided to gun down innocent lives is unknown. A 6-year-old girl and a 4-month-old baby were injured in the shooting.
Firefighters broke into the window on Friday and used a 12-foot pole with a camera to see inside. After deliberation, officials decided to wait until Saturday, after taking care of the medical aftermath of the shooting.
On a brighter note, a couple who went to see "The Dark Knight Rises" screening with their kids have decided to tie the knot. Jamie Rohrs and Patricia Legarreta told CNN that Jamie popped the question while they were in the hospital after escaping with their 4-year-old daughter and 4-month-old son.
"He said, 'I know this isn't the time or the place, but will you marry me,' and I said, 'yes,'" Legarreta told CNN.
