Apple is providing an iOS fragmentation chart, a feature previously seen by Google for its mobile operating system.
During last week's Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC), it was confirmed that 93 percent of Apple customers use the latest iOS 6 while six percent use iOS 5. The one percent left in Apple's figures was not specified.

Apple's iOS figures were compiled during a 14-day period ending on June 3.
With the iOS information made public last week, Apple has illustrated the iOS fragmentation online at its public developer website.
The publication of the iOS fragmentation is a feature Google has done with its Android mobile platform.
According to Apple Insider, Apple expects the adoption of their next mobile operating system to be installed at a quicker rate compared to iOS 6's September 2012 launch. Apple's expectation for iOS 7 is due to the Cupertino-based organization's "aggressive" efforts to upgrade users and prepare iOS developers.
iOS 7 was confirmed on June 10 during the annual WWDC conference and is set for a fall release date. By visiting Apple's Developer page, people can download iOS 7 beta as long as they have an iOS developer account, which cost $99 per year through Apple. The iOS 7 beta is prone to potential bugs and crashes since it is still in its early stages, which is why Apple promotes the beta version, to avoid such occurrences ahead of its full launch.
