First of all, critics of website Rotten Tomatoes' give the movie an 87 percent of approval while top critics give it a 78 percent of approval.

Some of the positive reviews from the site include:

Chris Vognar - Dallas Morning News
Yes, The Dark Knight Rises. And rises. And rises some more.

Staci Layne Wilson - Yahoo! Movies
[Aside from the fashion and visual] The Dark Knights Rises is a big, beautiful action adventure with heart and soul.

Walter Chaw - Film Freak Central
Nolan's Batman movies are time capsules of our zeitgeist, and while I hope their nihilism and hopelessness are misplaced, they feel just right.

Some of the negative reviews from the site:

Michael Phillips - Chicago Tribune
What worked beautifully in "The Dark Knight" seems overworked and almost ridiculously grim in "The Dark Knight Rises."

Nick Pinkerton - Village Voice
The history of Batman's burden is, however, increasingly cumbersome, and it's Mr. Bane who finally makes the pertinent point: "Gotham is beyond saving and must be allowed to die."

Mick LaSalle - San Francisco Chronicle
Moments are stretched. Every recollection must be illustrated by a flashback. Character motivations shift on a dime, and if you understand even half of what's going on -- not generally, but specifically -- you'll be doing better than most.

And now to the spoilers:

-John Blake at the end of the movie reveals that his christian name is "Robin".

-Batman ends up "sacrificing" himself to save Gotham City by flying the "Bat" carrying Bane's  bomb out into the sea. He's found with Selina Kyle, alive, later.

-Bane breaks Batman's back. Then, a prisoner resets his column by hanging him in a particular position. Bruce remains in prison for months and has a lot of time to heal.

-Catwoman during the movie plays the hero/villain role. She ends up a hero however. Movie villains are Bane and Talia.
