News has emerged that retired NBA star Allen Iverson has kidnapped his five children from his ex-wife.

According to TMZ, Iverson's ex-wife Tawanna has filed court documents alleging that the former Philadelphia 76ers player has failed to return their five children after the two agreed that he could take them on a planned vacation in May.

The celebrity news site states that Allen asked permission to take their kids on a short vacation to Charlotte, N.C., from May 22 until May 26, however the children were never returned home.

In the docs, Tawanna says she tried to set up an exchange on June 4 at a neutral location, but Iverson never showed up, reports USA Today.

Tawanna, who has sole legal and primary physical custody of their children, ages 3 to 16, now believes Allen Iverson never took their kids to Charlotte at all and is holding them hostage at a Sheraton hotel in Georgia. She is hoping that the court will force him to return the kids, and even suggested giving the 38-year-old basketball legend jail time.

In response, TMZ also reports that Allen Iverson has filed his own documents denying his ex-wife's claims.

Back in February, Tawanna Iverson received custody of the children as part of the couple's divorce proceedings, which ended their 11-year marriage. The presiding judge in the case ordered Allen Iverson to see a psychiatrist and attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for a year, and granted him visitation rights only under specific conditions, including that he not drink alcohol within 24 hours of a visit.
