Ghana will look to keep its World Cup aspirations alive when it takes on Lesotho in the 2014 qualifiers on Sunday.

The group winner moves on to the third round where it takes on another top African team in a two-legged playoff. The team with the higher goal scoring aggregate after those two matches becomes one of five African contests in next summer's World Cup finals in Brazil.

Ghana currently trails Zambia for the top spot in the group and needs to win in order to stay alive. If they win, the Ghanese will have a chance to capture the top spot when Zambia and Ghana face off in September in the final group match.

Ghana started its tournament with a resounding 7-0 win over Lesotho at home. The team then lost a crucial game against Zambia before destroying Sudan 4-0. In its most recent game, Ghana destroyed Sudan 3-1 on the road. The team has a tournament leading 14 goals and has only conceded twice.

Ghana is looking to book its third straight World Cup appearance. The team has had tremendous success in the tournament. In 2006, Ghana finished second in a group that consisted of Italy, the United States and the Czech Republic. Ghana defeated the Americans 2-1 in the deciding match. During the round of 16, the team lost 3-0 against Brazil. In 2010, Ghana finished in second place in a group consisting of Germany, Australia, and Serbia. In the round of 16, Ghana defeated the United States 2-1 before falling in penalties in a controversial match against Uruguay.

Lesotho is eliminated from contention with only two points in the group stage.

Prediction: Ghana should pull off a 3-0 win.

Start Time: Kick off starts at 9 AM Eastern Standard Time.

TV Info: The match will not be transmitted on television in North America.
