Andre Drummond, hyped as the next franchise player of the Detroit Pistons, created some buzz around the basketball community recently after a video showing him dunking on R&B artist Chris Brown became an instant hit on the web.

The 6-foot-10 270-pound Drummond emphatically dunked on the fragile body of the singer in what looked like a pick-up hoops game at a Los Angeles gym Wednesday night.

Drummond, who averaged 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in his first season with the Pistons, has already 'posterized' bigger and more athletic dudes before but his smash on Brown might be the most popular of all.

Unfortunately for hoops fans, the dunk was apparently all planned out and part of a big prank.

After the video generated an incredible number of followings on Vine, Drummond immediately went to his Twitter account to clear the truth behind the dunk.

"It was all planned out to, nothing serious just a joke!" tweeted Drummond, who's been gaining comparison to New York Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire because of his skills set and bigman athleticism.

Chris Brown, meanwhile, posted the clip on his official website.

It was not the first time the singer hooked up with an NBA player. The last time Brown got face-to-face with a hoops star, it ended in an all-out brawl at New York City night club.

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, who's currently playing in the NBA Finals, suffered an eye injury after he was involved in a clash between Canadian singer Drake and Brown.
