Shakira Appears In Elle Magazine's July Cover: Talks About Relationship With Gerard Pique & Son Milan

Shakira appears on the cover of Elle magazine's July issue where she discusses her relationship with Barcelona soccer star, Gerard Pique and her newborn son Milan. The Colombian singer opened up about her relationship to Pique: "He lives in his own world and that is actually one of the healthiest things about our relationship."

"I know he is with me simply because of love which is what unites us and keeps us together," she said about the 26 year old soccer player. "There is nothing that can offer beyond me and my womanhood," Shakira, who is ten years older than Pique, said candidly.

The actress said that before she met the soccer player she was not feeling her best. "I started thinking that God did not exist. And suddenly I find Gerard and the sun rised again."

Now the singer's world revolves around her five month old baby, Milan Piqué Mebarak, and says that being a mother does not necessarily mean falling into stereotypes. "I'm still trying to find out how it's done. And I have a feeling that I will be doing so the rest of my life," Shakira added.

"Some people talk about it as something idyllic, some people live a tortuous experience, but it's neither one thing nor the other. Being a mother is like life itself. It has a little bit of everything ," the star reflected on her new role as a mother.

Previously, Shakira spoke on how stressful it has been to try to lose weight after giving birth to her child. She talked about that as the worst part of pregnancy, but that she did not want to complain that much. In April, the singer also said that Pique and the herself were planning a secret wedding, which obviously she did not want to reveal much about.

The 36 year old singer appears in a relaxed and fun look in the cover which is largely a reflection of the state of happiness she is currently living in due to the new loves in her life.

Shakira is currently part of the judges panel in the talent show "The Voice" and is also working on a new album, due for release later this year.
