Dania Ramirez is having a successful 2013 that keeps on getting better.

The actress just finished enjoying her honeymoon after marrying writer-director John Beverly Amos Land, 35, in February in Punta Cana. The Dominican actress, who recently turned 33, explained to People Magazine En Español how happy she currently is.

"As a woman, I feel full of love and fully supported by my family," the "Devious Maids" actress said. The series, which airs on the Lifetime Network on June 23, also stars fellow Latina Roselyn Sanchez.

"Roselyn and I have become friends," Dania explained. "Previously we had only auditioned for the same characters and this is the first time we actually got the opportunity to work together. We have grown very close lately."

Portraying a Latina maid could be considered perpetuating an image that is genuinely associated with Hispanics in ways that are not necessarily flattering. However, Ramirez has vehemently defended her choice to participate in the series and applauded the show's story and script.

"The series portrays maids as complex characters who are five Latina women chasing their dreams in America and trying their hardest to accomplish them. That's the focus. The show is not about washing dishes and opening doors, but about woman who are working to get ahead in the world while working and struggling in everyday life," she said.

Although Dania likes the role she is currently playing, the actress confessed that she isn't really in charge of the cleaning chores at her Los Angeles home. "I love to cook but I never do the dishes," the actress joked. "Maybe on the next show we'll be playing doctors or lawyers, who knows. You have to crawl before you walk."

"Devious Maids" is produced by Eva Longoria and starring alongside Ramirez will be Ana Ortiz, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem, Judy Reyes and Susan Lucci. The show revolves around the life of four Latina maids working among Beverly Hills' wealthiest families. The pilot episode was released earlier this week online and it will appear on the Lifetime Network on June 22.
