Nadya Suleman, better known as TV's "Octomom," may be in trouble with welfare services.

According to TMZ, the L.A. County Dept. of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation department has obtained search warrants to investigate Suleman's home and her manager's office. The department has also taken steps to seize Suleman's bank records and other financial documents.

The WFP&I began investigating Suleman after getting a tip that she was collecting welfare and food stamps in 2012, even though she allegedly grossed more than $200,000 from her porn video, stripping and publicity stunts, says TMZ. The California law states that Octomom can receive government assistance if she earns less than $119,000 a year. If she is eventually prosecuted and convicted, Suleman could risk going to jail for up to three years.

"I can confirm that the authorities have been in contact with us concerning her income and we have been cooperating," an inside source told E! News

RadarOnline.com reported that Octomom received an estimated $60,000 in welfare benefits, including food stamps, even though she brought in over $200,000.

Earlier this year, Octomom sat down with Oprah Winfrey where admitted that she found her infamous self-pleasure movie "liberating and empowering."

"Years after I had the babies-the octuplets-my manager and I collaborated together on doing an independent, um, self-pleasure video," Suleman told Oprah.

"I did it obviously to provide for my family. But doing it, I don't regret it. I actually, shockingly enough, it became one of the most liberating and empowering things I had ever done."
